Trust us to find you the rarest animals, the most spectacular wildlife events, the remotest landscapes and deeply meaningful cultural encounters!
This family safari to Kenya's three most iconic destinations is packed with adventure for everyone.
Expect an astonishing variety of wildlife encounters, from the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant & rhino) and Great Wildebeest Migration of the Maasai Mara, to huge elephant tuskers in Amboseli and the 'Samburu Special Five' – gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich and beisa oryx.
This safari is packed with daily activities – including for kids – or you could just chill back at the camp with your loved ones and enjoy the action...
3 iconic destinations in one safari – providing access to vastly different landscapes and views, including Mount Kilimanjaro.
Astonishing wildlife diversity – In addition to the Big 5 and 'Samburu Special Five' listed elsewhere, other iconic species to look out for include cheetah, wild dog, hyena, and so much more. For those travelling from August to October, there is the added attraction of dramatic scenes as the huge herds of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River, despite the considerable risk of drowning and crocodile attacks.
Family-friendly activities – from the famous Karen Blixen Museum and nearby Nairobi attractions to game drives, bush walks, bush meals, visits to a cooking school, bead project and optional extra activities such as Maasai community visits and hot air balloon rides. Activities aimed at kids include guided nature walks, bow and arrow shooting, fire making, bead making, spoor casting, distributing seed-balls using catapults and slingshots, swimming, camel rides and feeding fish.
Short flights between parks – to maximise your time on safari and reduce the boredom factor with the kids.
Nairobi is Kenya’s vibrant capital city, a gateway where modern life meets colonial history and leafy suburbs shelter art galleries, cafés and gardens.
Samburu & Buffalo Springs National Reserves are set along the Ewaso Nyiro River. These reserves offer striking semi-arid landscapes and rare northern species found nowhere else — Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, and the beautiful reticulated giraffe.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve & Mara North Conservancy are vast savannahs teeming with wildlife, famed for the annual wildebeest migration and year-round predator sightings—private conservancies bordering the reserve offer exclusive safaris away from the crowds.
Amboseli National Park is dominated by the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli’s open plains are home to great elephant herds, grazing plains game and dramatic backdrops for photography.
1 night at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages: a tranquil retreat in the leafy suburb of Karen, offering classic rooms set within lush gardens. An ideal first stop after arrival, with warm hospitality, a pool, and proximity to Nairobi’s cultural landmarks.
2 nights at Surana Buffalo Springs: overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, Ashnil Surana Lodge offers a luxurious base for exploring Samburu and Buffalo Springs. Spacious family tents, a pool and attentive service create comfort amid spectacular wilderness.
3 nights at Karen Blixen Camp: set on the banks of the Mara River, Karen Blixen Camp combines classic safari style with modern ease. Large family tents with river views provide front-row seats to hippo and wildlife action, with expert guides leading daily game drives.
2 nights at Tawi Lodge: nestled on a private conservancy bordering Amboseli, Tawi Lodge blends eco-sustainability with elegance. Family cottages overlook Mount Kilimanjaro, and days unfold with elephant encounters, game drives and sundowners under the acacias.
The ideal time for this family safari is from July to October, when all three regions - Samburu, Maasai Mara and Amboseli - offer superb wildlife viewing and comfortable travel conditions. The Mara plains host the Great Migration, Samburu’s wildlife gathers along the Ewaso Nyiro River, and Amboseli’s skies are clear for magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Luis Gama, AG Kenya safari expert: "From waking beneath Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, tasting a cold gin & tonic while watching wildebeest and hippos from my camp’s deck, every moment on a Kenya safari felt like pure, unhurried magic.”
Stefan Winterboer, AG Kenya safari expert: “The Maasai Mara is one of Africa’s most photogenic safari destinations year-round. Mara North Conservancy ranks among the very best, offering exceptional game viewing in a beautiful setting — a safe, no-brainer choice every time.”
Ramona Rubach, AG Kenya safari expert: "Samburu hooked me for life; reticulated giraffes at golden hour, elephants dusting themselves red by the river, and not another safari vehicle in sight. It feels raw, rare, and deliciously exclusive."
