Safari experts & storytellers. Since 1991
Trust us to find you the rarest animals, the most spectacular wildlife events, the remotest landscapes and deeply meaningful cultural encounters!
This best-of-Malawi safari takes you to the Big Five havens of Majete Wildlife Reserve and Liwonde National Park and the rugged wilderness of Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve.
The three parks are managed by African Parks - a non-profit conservation organisation - and the results of their effort are plain to see. These conservation success stories are what responsible travel is all about - come and find out for yourself and make a real difference where it counts.
And why not add on a few days after your safari to bask in the sun on an island in Lake Malawi?
Three parks, three personalities, from the revived bushveld of Majete to the river landscapes of Liwonde and the remote woodlands of Nkhotakota.
A conservation story you can feel, where long term restoration has brought wildlife and habitats back to life in meaningful, community supported ways.
Shire River encounters that shape each day, with elephants, hippos, crocodiles and abundant birdlife drawn to the water’s edge.
Walking and canoe safaris that bring you closer to the rhythms of the bush, guided by those who read the landscape with ease.
Malawi up close, with genuine warmth, cultural connection and thoughtful interactions that reveal the heart and soul of the country.
Majete Wildlife Reserve is a restored Big Five wilderness of rolling hills, river channels and dense bushveld. Majete stands as one of Africa’s most inspiring conservation success stories.
Liwonde National Park is centred on the Shire River. Liwonde blends palm-lined waterways, floodplains and open savannah, offering some of Malawi’s most scenic and wildlife-rich safari experiences.
Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve is vast and remote. Nkhotakota’s miombo woodlands and winding rivers create a quieter safari setting, shaped by large-scale elephant reintroductions and immersive walking and canoe adventures.
3 nights at Thawale Lodge: a peaceful camp located in Majete Wildlife Reserve. The camp overlooks a lively waterhole, with comfortable chalets providing warm Malawian hospitality.
3 nights at Mvuu Camp: a relaxed riverside camp in Liwonde National Park offering spacious rooms, sweeping Shire River views and an inviting connection to Liwonde’s wildlife.
3 nights at Tongole Wilderness Retreat: a beautifully crafted eco-lodge set above the Bua River in Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, combining generous comfort with a serene forest setting.
Available from May to November, this safari coincides with Malawi’s dry season, when wildlife gathers around rivers and water sources, delivering the most consistent game viewing in Majete, Liwonde and Nkhotakota. Clear skies and moderate temperatures during these months also create ideal conditions for river safaris, canoeing and guided walking activities.

Travel in Africa is about knowing when and where to go, and with whom. A few weeks too early/late or a few kilometres off course, and you could miss the greatest show on Earth. And wouldn’t that be a pity?
