Nairobi. Kenya’s bustling capital is where modern Africa meets the wild. In the leafy suburb of Karen, conservation and culture intertwine — from the rescued elephants of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. In Nairobi, colonial-era history, literary legacy and modern-day conservation blend seamlessly, offering a fascinating introduction to Kenya’s story.
Amboseli National Park. At the foot of Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli’s sweeping plains and shimmering marshes host some of Africa’s most iconic elephant herds. The park’s open vistas and mirrored wetlands provide a photographer’s dream — where wildlife moves against the snow-dusted backdrop of the continent’s highest peak.
Maasai Mara National Reserve. Kenya’s most celebrated wilderness, the Maasai Mara, is the stage for Africa’s great wildlife drama — from the thunder of the Great Migration to intimate predator encounters in the golden grasslands. Year-round, it offers extraordinary diversity and energy, the essence of safari itself.
Laikipia (Loisaba Conservancy). A vast highland plateau of rolling hills and escarpments, Laikipia is a conservation frontier where elephants and predators share space with herders and rare northern species like reticulated giraffe and Grévy’s zebra. The sense of space and freedom here is unmatched.
2 nights at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages (Nairobi). Set in tranquil gardens on historic grounds, these charming cottages offer a quiet retreat with easy access to Nairobi’s conservation landmarks and cultural highlights.
3 nights at Tortilis Camp (Amboseli). A classic tented safari camp with uninterrupted Kilimanjaro views, renowned for exceptional guiding, elegant simplicity and a genuine connection to the Maasai community.
3 nights at Sand River Masai Mara (Maasai Mara). A nostalgic riverside camp that evokes the elegance of vintage safaris. Its location in the southeastern corner of the Mara ensures superb game viewing in classic surroundings.
2 nights at Loisaba Tented Camp (Laikipia). A refined hilltop camp with sweeping views, luxurious tents and the freedom to explore by vehicle, foot, horse or camel — a truly versatile wilderness experience.
1 night at Loisaba Star Beds (Laikipia). Handcrafted four-poster beds rolled onto open wooden decks beneath an immense sky — the perfect finale to an authentic Kenyan safari.
The dry seasons (June to October and January to March) offer exceptional wildlife visibility, clear skies and comfortable conditions across all regions. From July to October, the Maasai Mara hosts the Great Migration’s dramatic river crossings, while January to March marks the calving season — a time of newborn wildlife, heightened predator activity and lush green backdrops.
The green season (November to December and April to May) brings rejuvenated landscapes, resident predators, vibrant birdlife and fewer visitors, while Laikipia’s cool, temperate climate makes it rewarding year-round.
