A classic Tanzanian bush and beach safari that immerses you in iconic locations with time-honoured luxury camps.

This is an unforgettable 10-day sojourn that blends the untamed beauty of Tanzania's northern safari circuit with the tranquil allure of its pristine beaches. Meticulously crafted, this luxury safari journeys through Tarangire National Park to the awe-inspiring panoramas of the Ngorongoro Crater, the sweeping plains of Serengeti National Park, and the sun-kissed shores of Zanzibar.

The perfect bush and beach trifecta: Ngorongoro Crater + Serengeti + Zanzibar

Highlights

  • 3 iconic destinations in one safari – providing access to vastly different landscapes and ecosystems

  • Astonishing wildlife diversity – In addition to the Big 5 (rhino, lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo), other iconic species to look out for include cheetah, wild dog, hyena, and so much more. For those travelling from August to October, there is the added attraction of dramatic scenes as the huge herds of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River – despite the considerable risk of drowning and crocodile attacks.

  • Bush and beach – Nothing is quite as satisfying after a safari as feeling the sand between your toes, warm ocean water and a hammock in a cool breeze.

  • Stone Town – the cultural heart of Zanzibar – features narrow, winding, cobbled streets and historical architecture. Wandering through its bustling bazaars, study the intricate doorways, visit historic sites, and sample local cuisine.

Locations and lodges

Explore Tanzania’s wonders with a safari through the Ngorongoro Crater, home to abundant wildlife within a dramatic volcanic caldera. Continue into the vast Serengeti, famed for the Great Migration and predator sightings. After thrilling game drives, unwind on Zanzibar’s pristine beaches before immersing yourself in Stone Town’s spice-scented alleys, rich Swahili culture, and historic charm.

  • 1 night at Katambuga House: Katambuga House is an oasis of tranquillity within Arusha – the gateway to your immersive Tanzanian safari experience

  • 2 nights at Ngorongoro Crater’s Edge: The lodge is situated within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, adjacent to the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, providing guests with unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities

  • 3 nights at Olmara Camp: A tented camp established in the far eastern plains of the Serengeti, a remote and wildlife-filled pocket lying at the crossroads of the endless grassy plains and the woodlands

  • 3 nights at  Matlai Boutique Hotel: A luxury boutique hotel on Zanzibar’s southeast coast, offering exclusive villa-style accommodation with tropical gardens, Indian Ocean views, and a relaxed, private atmosphere for those seeking comfort and tranquillity.

Timing

Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, and Zanzibar each offer unique seasonal highlights. The Crater is most vibrant between October and December, when flamingos gather on Lake Magadi, though July–October and December–January are peak visitor months. Budget-conscious travellers may prefer quieter shoulder seasons. In the Serengeti, timing is key: December–March brings the wildebeest calving season, while August–October showcases dramatic Mara River crossings. The dry season (July–October) ensures concentrated game viewing, while the wet months (March–June, November–December) deliver lush scenery with fewer crowds, though some areas can be harder to reach.

On Zanzibar’s southeast coast, the dry months from June to October and December to February are best for beach escapes, while the green season offers tranquillity and fewer visitors. Stone Town can be visited year-round, though the drier months are best for exploring its historic alleys, spice markets, and cultural sites before or after a safari.

Once we know more about your experience wish-list and ideal timing, we will tailor-make this safari idea just for you.
