Victoria Falls, Africa’s adventure capital, is where the Zambezi plunges 100 metres into dramatic gorges, forming the world’s largest continuous curtain of falling water. Experiencing the thundering energy of the “Smoke that Thunders” is deeply revitalising; a true bucket-list destination you could explore for weeks. This safari idea includes one night in Victoria Falls. Let us know if you want to extend your stay to enjoy the many activities and sights on offer.
Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s oldest and largest park. Hwange blends Kalahari scrub, teak forests, salt pans, and granite hills, supporting abundant wildlife. Expect vast herds of elephants and buffalo, lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, and over 400 bird species, with walks, horse safaris, and night drives in private concessions bordering the unfenced park, revealing rarities like aardvark and pangolin, sustained year-round by natural seeps such as Nehimba.
1 night at The Victorian Manor (Victoria Falls). A characterful guest house in a quiet Victoria Falls neighbourhood, with spacious, classically styled rooms and a calm garden setting – an easy, comfortable base before flying into Hwange.
4 nights at Khulu Bush Camp (Hwange National Park). A small, contemporary bush camp looking over a busy waterhole, with open-fronted suites, views across the plains and the option to spend a night on a romantic starbed under Hwange’s vast sky.
4 nights at Camp Hwange (Hwange National Park). An intimate, canvas-walled camp in a private concession, known for its superb guiding, relaxed campfire atmosphere and a strong focus on walking and slow, immersive game viewing.
The best time to travel is from June to October, when wildlife gathers in extraordinary numbers at Hwange’s waterholes and game viewing is at its peak. The green season (November to March) brings lush scenery, newborn animals and exceptional birding — a quieter time for those who value solitude and photographic beauty.
