Walker Bay is a pristine stretch of coastline where fynbos-covered dunes meet the ocean. Walker Bay is defined by wide, empty beaches, shifting light and a strong sense of space. The region is rich in birdlife and marine activity, with lagoons and estuaries creating a peaceful, nature-immersed atmosphere. Nearby vineyards and country estates add a gentle Winelands flavour to this coastal escape.
Cape Town, South Africa's vibrant 'Mother City', is dominated by the majestic Table Mountain, ringed by pristine white-sand beaches like Clifton and Boulders (home to charming penguins). Cape Town offers a rich cultural experience at the V&A Waterfront, a poignant visit to Robben Island, and stunning Cape Peninsula tours.
Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is located within the Greater Kruger, a collection of private reserves that share an open ecosystem with Kruger National Park, and is home to the legendary Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) and other species such as cheetahs, wild dogs, zebras, hyenas and giraffes. Greater Kruger access is exclusive to lodge guests, ensuring a private wildlife experience.
3 nights at Coot Club: a relaxed, design-led coastal retreat set between beach, lagoon and fynbos, offering an easy, barefoot style and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
3 nights at The Manor House: an elegant heritage property near the V&A Waterfront, combining classic architecture with refined comfort and a tranquil city atmosphere.
3 nights at Tanda Tula: an intimate tented camp overlooking the river, known for exceptional guiding, immersive safari experiences and personalised service in a private wilderness setting.
The ideal time for this journey is from May to October, when dry winter conditions deliver excellent game viewing in the Greater Kruger and clear, mild days in the Cape. From November to April, the landscapes are greener and warmer, with vibrant birdlife and long summer evenings creating a softer, romantic atmosphere.
Once we know more about your experience wish-list and ideal timing, we will tailor-make this safari idea to deliver the holiday of a lifetime for you and your family.

Our community manager, Sarah Goodman, says, “For me, choosing the Timbavati means backing hands-on conservation and community work. Eco-tourism directly funds anti-poaching and sustainability projects that protect rhinos, pangolins, and Southern Ground Hornbills – making it a meaningful safari choice.”
Repeat AG guest Roger Whittle (UK): "The first stop was Tanda Tula, and as usual, the game viewing was excellent. Great sightings of lions bringing down a buffalo, rhino and calf, leopards, and the first sighting of a harrier hawk attempting to break into a hornbill nest in a tree trunk, to name a few. Looking forward to the next visit."
Ramona Rubach, AG luxury safari expert: "Cape Town is a vibrant fusion of mountains, ocean, cultures and cuisine. Spend your days exploring the Peninsula or Winelands, visiting penguins, hiking or chasing gorgeous sunsets! It’s the perfect gateway to various safari destinations."
