Highlights

  • The vibey, cosmopolitan charm of Cape Town, South Africa's stunning 'Mother City'

  • Award-winning restaurants and wine farms

  • Private guided tours to the Cape Peninsula, Seal Island and the Cape Winelands

  • Iconic landmarks such as Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula, Cape Winelands, the Greater Kruger bushveld and the iconic Victoria Falls

  • Exclusive Big Five and other wildlife encounters

  • Guided Victoria Falls activities - a privately guided tour of the Falls, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and the breathtaking 'Flight of Angels' scenic flight over the Falls. Many optional activities of both the adrenaline-seeking and tranquillity kind include bungee jumping, white-water rafting, game drives and horse riding.

Locations

  • Cape Town, South Africa's vibrant 'Mother City', is dominated by the majestic Table Mountain, ringed by pristine white-sand beaches like Clifton and Boulders (home to charming penguins). Cape Town offers a rich cultural experience at the V&A Waterfront, a poignant visit to Robben Island, and stunning Cape Peninsula tours. A short drive away, the Cape Winelands offers historic wine estates featuring Cape Dutch architecture, award-winning wines and 5-star restaurants amidst breathtaking landscapes.

  • The Greater Kruger, a collection of private reserves that share an open ecosystem with Kruger National Park, is home to the legendary Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) and other species such as cheetahs, wild dogs, zebras, hyenas and giraffes. Greater Kruger access is exclusive to lodge guests, ensuring a private wildlife experience.

  • Victoria Falls - Africa's adventure capital - marks the spot where the mighty Zambezi River gathers its strength and tumbles into dramatic gorges 100 metres below: the single largest continuous falling curtain of water in the world. To immerse yourself in that thumping energy of the Smoke that Thunders is to recharge your batteries. Victoria Falls is rightly on most safari bucket lists - you could spend weeks there and enjoy a new experience every day.

Lodges & hotels

  • 4 nights at The Winchester Hotel, Cape Town, South Africa: on the edge of the vibrant Sea Point Promenade, the splendour of this 1920s Cape Dutch-style icon is rivalled only by the views of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean that frame the establishment.

  • 3 nights at Ngala Safari Lodge, Greater Kruger, South Africa: a stylish thatched lodge with a colonial ambience overlooking a waterhole and riverine woodland.

  • 3 nights at Ilala Lodge Hotel, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe: a family-run hotel nestled in attractive gardens that offers luxury and comfort, is a casual eight-minute walk from Victoria Falls.

Timing

The most popular period for this luxurious itinerary, encompassing Cape Town, the Greater Kruger, and Victoria Falls, is from August to mid-November.

July to mid-November marks the dry season in South Africa's Greater Kruger - when wildlife sightings are at their best due to less vegetation cover and the lack of surface water forcing wildlife to congregate near permanent water sources. This period also sees lower Zambezi River water levels at Victoria Falls - ensuring a clear view of the Falls, exciting river rafting and less mist to fog your camera lens.

Cape Town and the Cape Winelands enjoy a Mediterranean climate, characterised by cold, wet winter months (June to September) that transition into warm, dry summer months from October to March, offering ideal conditions for outdoor exploration and wine tasting.

You can enjoy this safari at any time of year, with careful planning to cater for the Cape Town winter and the bushveld summer. Our safari experts will help you make the best timing decision.
