HANDCRAFTED EXPERIENTIAL SAFARIS

Trust us to find you the rarest animals, the most spectacular wildlife events, the remotest landscapes and deeply meaningful cultural encounters!

Visit the iconic 'Smoke that Thunders' - Victoria Falls, where the mighty Zambezi River plunges an awe-inspiring 108 metres into misty gorges below. Then, head to the Chobe Riverfront in Chobe National Park, which hosts massive concentrations of elephants, hippos and other wildlife, including four of the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo).

This safari offers epic wildlife viewing and cultural experiences. Enjoy activities every day, from river cruises on the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers to game drives, a helicopter flip above Victoria Falls and, for the more adventurous, bungee jumping and river rafting – and so much more.

Victoria Falls & Chobe - including boat cruises & a helicopter flight over the Falls

Locations and lodges

Chobe National Park pulses with iconic elephant herds, unforgettable game drives and river cruises along the Chobe River with spectacular wildlife scenes. Just minutes from these destinations, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe – a UNESCO-listed site – offers both majestic scenery and wildlife-rich waterholes framed by luxury lodges.

  • 3 nights at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge: Located just four kilometres from the majestic Victoria Falls, this lodge gives the impression of an open-plan tree house and is renowned for its views over a wildlife-rich waterhole.

  • 3 nights at Chobe Bakwena Lodge: A privately owned eco lodge made up of 15 chalets situated on the banks of the Chobe River, amongst indigenous riverine woodland.

Timing

The best time to safari in Botswana’s Chobe is during the cool, dry months from June to October, when wildlife gathers at scarce water sources. Victoria Falls is at its fullest from February to July (peaking in April). It offers the clearest visibility from August to January, when low-water levels create the ideal conditions to visit Devil’s Pool and go river rafting.

Once we know more about your experience wish-list and ideal timing, we will tailor-make this safari idea to deliver the holiday of a lifetime for you and your family.

Safari tips

“Magical Hideaway”

Sonja Deutschendorff, AG German safari expert: "I absolutely loved Chobe Bakwena.  It felt like living in a magical forest hideaway. Relaxing in the treehouse, surrounded by birdsong, with the Chobe River flowing below: all a short 15 minutes from Chobe National Park."

Safari tips

"Wild bliss"

Benjamin Lederer, AG Victoria Falls safari expert: "Sitting on the deck with a drink in hand, I watched buffalo at the waterhole as the sun set. In the distance, I could hear the thunder of the Falls."

Safari tips

"End in the Okavango"

Our destinations expert, Nadia Lautenbach, says, “Easily extend your safari to the magical Okavango Delta - after cruising the mighty Chobe with crocs and hippos, you could soon be gliding by mokoro through the reeds, spotting tiny jewel-like frogs.”

Why choose us to craft your safari?

Handcrafted experiential safaris since 1991.

Travel in Africa is about knowing when and where to go, and with whom. A few weeks too early/late or a few kilometres off course, and you could miss the greatest show on Earth. And wouldn’t that be a pity?
