This connoisseur safari is all about rare, endemic Madagascan wildlife, fascinating local culture and unusual scenery in off-the-beaten-path locations accessed via scheduled charter flights.

Locations and lodges

Epic encounters away, from Antananarivo, to the remote Ifotaka Community Forest and Tsingy de Namoroka National Park. Discover ring-tailed lemurs, sifakas, vibrant birdlife, sacred forests, limestone formations, and baobab-studded landscapes – an unforgettable journey through one of Earth’s most biodiverse and culturally rich regions.

  • 1 night at Maison Gallieni: Built in 1879 on a former granite quarry, this four-bedroom hilltop home once housed Madagascar's first bank and offers sweeping views of the capital.

  • 4 nights at Mandrare River Camp: A remote, off-the-beaten-track tented camp offers breathtaking views of the Mandrare River, bringing life to the arid deserts of southern Madagascar.

  • 1 night at Nosy Manga: This hotel is conveniently situated in Antananarivo, just ten minutes from Soarano Station. Its prime location also allows easy access to nearby attractions and Ivato Airport.

  • 3 nights at Namoroka Tsingy Camp: Set in one of Madagascar’s most untouched regions, this tented camp borders dramatic karst limestone and combines nature with comfort.

Timing

Madagascar’s dry season (May–October) is the best time to visit Antananarivo, Ifotaka, and Tsingy de Namoroka. Cooler weather and drier conditions make travel easier, while wildlife is more visible as animals gather around rivers and waterholes. This period is excellent for spotting lemurs, sifakas, and a variety of birds. The wet season (November–April) transforms the landscapes into lush green, attracting migratory birds and offering vibrant scenery, though heavy rains may hinder access. For a balance of wildlife viewing and comfort, September–October is ideal.

Once we know more about your experience wish-list and ideal timing, we will tailor-make this safari idea just for you.
