First, we visit northern Botswana. Khwai Community Concession is a wildlife haven with a good population of predators and just about every other species that northern Botswana has to offer. The famous Chobe Riverfront in Chobe National Park has that big-river vibe about it, with massive concentrations of elephants and other wildlife on the river shore.
After this immersion into Botswana’s wilderness expect to be romanced by the awe-inspiring Zambezi River as it plunges 108m into the misty gorges and deep pools below, in a thunderous display of power. This is Zimbabwe’s iconic Victoria Falls – the ‘smoke that thunders’.

3 nights at Sango Safari Camp: This intimate tented camp was named after some of the original inhabitants of the khwai area and is situated on the outskirts of a traditional village, bordering Moremi Game reserve
2 nights at Chobe Bakwena Lodge: A privately owned eco lodge made up of 15 chalets situated on the banks of the Chobe River, amongst indigenous riverine woodland
3 nights at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge: Located just four kilometres from the majestic Victoria Falls, this lodge gives the impression of a one-plan tree house and is renowned for the views over a wildlife-rich waterhole.
Timing
The best time to safari in Botswana’s Khwai and Chobe is during the cool, dry months from June to October, when wildlife gathers at scarce water sources. Victoria Falls is at its fullest from February to July (peaking in April) and at its clearest from August to January, making it ideal for Devil’s Pool and rafting during low-water months.

You safari day-by-day
This 9-day safari adventure combines Botswana’s iconic wilderness areas with the natural wonder of Victoria Falls.
Your journey begins with a transfer from Maun to Khwai Community Concession, a wildlife-rich area bordering the Okavango Delta, Moremi and Chobe. Staying at Sango Safari Camp, you’ll explore on morning and evening game drives, with chances to see leopard, lion, elephant, painted wolves, and abundant antelope species. Mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions offer a tranquil way to discover Khwai’s waterways, while bush walks provide a more intimate encounter. Between activities, relax by the pool or enjoy delicious camp meals.
After three days of immersive wildlife viewing, you’ll take a scenic flight to Kasane for a Chobe River sunset cruise, gliding past elephants, hippos and bird-filled islands. The next day features a game drive in Chobe National Park, home to vast herds of elephant and buffalo, four of the Big Five, plus rich birdlife.
You’ll then cross into Zimbabwe for three nights at Victoria Falls. After a guided tour of the Falls and a sunset cruise, you have a full free day to enjoy this adventure hub - optional activities range from white-water rafting and helicopter flights to cultural village visits. Your trip ends with breakfast and a final optional activity before departure.
