Cape Town, South Africa's vibrant 'Mother City', is dominated by the majestic Table Mountain, ringed by pristine white-sand beaches like Clifton and Boulders (home to charming penguins). Cape Town offers a rich cultural experience at the V&A Waterfront, a poignant visit to Robben Island, and stunning Cape Peninsula tours. A short drive away, the Cape Winelands offers historic wine estates featuring Cape Dutch architecture, award-winning wines and 5-star restaurants amidst breathtaking landscapes.
The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a verdant inland delta formed by the mighty Okavango River flowing into the Kalahari Desert, a unique ecosystem shaped by annual floodwaters from Angola and channels engineered by hippos and elephants. This lush wilderness teems with diverse wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo & rhino).
4 nights at Kensington Place, Cape Town, South Africa: A boutique hotel offering modern design and personalised service in the heart of Cape Town.
4 nights at Splash Camp: Located in the heart of the Okavango Delta’s private Kwara Reserve, Splash Camp offers contemporary tented suites in an area known for exceptional year-round wildlife viewing.
Botswana has two distinct seasons that create dramatically different safari experiences. The dry season (May-October) is popular, offering excellent wildlife viewing and comfortable temperatures. The rainy season (December-March) brings lush green landscapes, an influx of migratory birds and migrating zebras, dramatic afternoon thunderstorms, and temperatures reaching 32°C with high humidity.
Meanwhile, Cape Town and the Winelands experience a classic Mediterranean climate - cold, wet winters (June to September) and warm, dry summers (November to March). The most popular tourism season is from October to May, with warm, dry summer days ideal for outdoor exploration and culinary enjoyment.
You can enjoy this safari year-round with thoughtful planning for Cape Town’s winter rains and Botswana’s summer storms. Our safari experts will guide you to the best choice.

Safari concierge, Tracie Walker, says, ”Kensington Place: One of my favourite hotels in Cape Town. Intimate in a quiet garden oasis, yet still close to all the excitement the city has to offer. You can enjoy the Mother City adventures and retire to peace & quiet afterwards”
Benjamin Lederer, South Africa safari expert: "Pair Cape Town’s hidden rooftop sunsets over Table Mountain with wandering Franschhoek’s gardens, then indulging in seasonal farm-to-table cuisine and estate wines for a truly unforgettable escape."
Stefan Winterboer, Botswana safari expert: “It’s the Delta’s smell that stays with you – wet, healthy, colourful, alive and slightly spicy. A rare, magical mix found nowhere else, a smell that lingers in your memory long after you’ve left that extraordinary place."
