Timing

Namibia is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit Sossusvlei, Walvis Bay, Damaraland, Etosha, and Onguma is during the dry season (May to October), when wildlife congregates around scarce water sources and travel conditions are ideal. From November to April, rains transform the landscapes into lush, green vistas, attracting migratory birds and offering striking photographic opportunities. April to May brings cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, while September to October offers peak wildlife sightings.
