This iconic safari delivers 3 days of non-stop action at Africa’s adventure capital – Victoria Falls, and is ideal for a short break or as an add-on to another safari. You will be met on arrival in Victoria Falls by one of our representatives, and again at the end, to ensure a seamless safari experience.

Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River is one of Africa’s most iconic destinations and deservedly on many bucket lists. That awe-inspiring vertical drop of 108m into the chasm below, as well as the mist spray curtain during full flood that can be seen and heard from afar (its local name is ‘Mosi-oa- Tunya’, which means ‘the smoke that thunders’), make for a truly unforgettable experience. Just wandering the streets of this quaint town is a special experience as you negotiate for souvenirs, dodge warthogs (and elephants!), hang out with locals and sample a range of restaurants and bars.

Victoria Falls is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It’s also an adventure centre of note. You could stay for ages and enjoy a different activity every day, from bungee jumping, gorge swinging and white water rafting, to helicopter and microlight flights (a.k.a the flight of angels), sunset boat and steam train cruises, horse riding, game drives, canoe trips, and so much more. Here is a detailed list of activities on offer.

During your stay on the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls, walk across the bridge and also visit the Zambian side, which offers an exhilarating walk across the ‘Knife-edge Bridge’, a close-up view of the ‘Boiling Pot’ (a scary whirlpool at the base of the falls) and, for the really adventurous, a dip in the famous ‘Devil’s Pool‘.

This itinerary is popular with many of our clients:

Lodge options: We offer a number of lodge options to suit your budget and expectations, such as the Victoria Falls Hotel (luxury), Victoria Falls Safari Lodge (mid-range) and Bayete Guest Lodge (budget).

Day 1: Arrival in Victoria Falls and check in at your chosen lodge. After settling into your room and freshening up, you will be transferred to the nearby Victoria Falls for a guided tour, followed by a relaxed sunset cruise on the gently-flowing Zambezi River upstream of the Falls. After that busy day you will retire to a quiet dinner at your lodge;

Day 2: Today begins with a hearty breakfast at your lodge, followed by a half-day or full-day activity of your choice. You will end your day with dinner and entertainment at The Boma. The Boma is a unique cultural eating and entertainment experience that bombards the senses with the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of Africa, blended with the warmth and hospitality of the Zimbabwean people. Entertainment while you dine includes Shangaan dancers,  singers, face-painters and witchdoctors. The more adventurous amongst you will be showing off their dancing moves and drumming away on traditional African drums, as tables compete with each other for bragging rights. With all of this to whet the appetite, the selection of four-course traditional Zimbabwean dishes is mouth-watering. If mopane worms and crocodile tail are not your thing, settle instead for venison stews, beef, pork, fish and chicken or a variety of vegetarian options. This full day ends back at your lodge, where sleep should come easily.

Day 3: Followed by another kickstarter breakfast, today’s adventure could be a helicopter flip over the Falls. Find out why this iconic experience is called ‘the flight of angels’. After that you will cheek out of your lodge, and make your way to your next destination …

Whatever your choice of activities, or the length of your stay, your Victoria Falls safari will fuel your adventurous spirit and keep you young at heart.
