Lemala Ewanjan Tented Camp is an authentic tented camp, with a decidedly colonial explorer feel to it. The camp is positioned in a quiet valley, near to the vast central plains of Seronera in the Serengeti National Park, but away from the busy main game drive routes. The camp is positioned to provide access to the Great Wildebeest Migration during the months of November to January as the herd heads south from the Mara River to the Ndutu Plains further south, and again during April to June as the herds head north again. The Seronera area enjoys year-round game-viewing, and has a large population of resident big cats.
The main communal area at Ewanjan consists of a large tented lounge area with a bar, and separate tented dining area. The lounge area is beautifully decorated with leather sofas, chandeliers, side cabinets, rugs and chests. There is a campfire a short distance away, where guests enjoy sunset cocktails before dinner. Electricity is provided 24/7 via solar, with generator backup. There are battery-charging facilities and wifi in the lounge area.
Ewanjan accommodation consists of 12 large en-suite mosquito-proof tents (including one family tent), each fitted with 2 queen size beds, warm duvets, flush toilet, large safari shower, plentiful running water, wooden storage cabinets and flooring, 24-hour solar lighting and outside loungers from which to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the start of each exciting safari day.
Ewanjan activities include morning and evening game drives in custom-made large 4×4 vehicles and bush walks. This is a Big 5 area – with regular sightings of lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and many other species.
