Lower Zambezi National Park lies on the north bank of the Zambezi River, opposite Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools and about 100km from Victoria Falls.
This area attracts large numbers of game that comes to the river floodplain to drink before retreating back to the woodland savannah interior of the park.
You can expect to see good numbers of elephants, buffaloes, hippos and crocodiles, and there is also a good chance of seeing lions, leopards, wild dogs and hyenas, making for the ideal traditional Zambia safari.
There are approximately 380 bird species. All of the lodges are based near the river, and many close during the rainy season from November to April.
